Phil's States

Understanding what Phil's different visual states mean during your sessions.

Introduction

Phil appears in the bottom-right corner during sessions. His appearance changes to reflect what he's doing, helping you understand the session state at a glance.

Phil's States

Connecting

When you start a session, Phil appears in "connecting" state while establishing the voice connection. Takes a few seconds. Also shows when paused.

Idle (Listening)

Default state when Phil is listening to you or waiting for you to speak. Calm, attentive appearance - Phil is ready and actively listening.

Thinking

After you finish speaking, Phil enters "thinking" state while processing your question and preparing his response.

Speaking

When Phil is talking and explaining, he shows his "speaking" state with a gentle bouncing animation.

Encouraging

After Phil finishes a response, he briefly shows an encouraging expression for positive reinforcement.

State Transitions

  1. Idle → You speak → Phil listens
  2. Thinking → You finish → Phil processes
  3. Speaking → Phil responds
  4. Encouraging → Brief encouragement
  5. Idle → Ready for next question
