EdgeAI Overview

EdgeAI is your text-based chat with Phil — same AI tutor, typed instead of spoken.

What is EdgeAI?

While Phil teaches in real-time voice sessions, EdgeAI is a text chat for when you want to type instead of talk. Great for quick questions, reviewing past sessions, or when you can't use voice.

Accessing EdgeAI

Click "EdgeAI" in your dashboard sidebar. The chat interface opens with:

  • Chat area: Messages between you and Phil with markdown and LaTeX/math rendering
  • Input bar: Type your message, with emoji picker, camera, and materials buttons
  • New chat button (+): Start a fresh conversation
  • History button: Open the sidebar to see and switch between past chats
  • Reply counter: Shows your remaining replies for the month

Attaching Materials

Click the paperclip icon to attach materials for context:

  1. A selection picker appears — choose which subject
  2. Then pick specific materials from that selection
  3. Selected materials appear as chips above the input
  4. Phil will reference those materials when answering your question

Camera Capture

Click the camera icon to take a photo (e.g. of handwritten notes or a textbook page). The photo is processed with OCR to extract text (costs 1 reply) and saved as a material you can reference.

Chat History

The sidebar shows all your past conversations. Click any chat to resume it. Delete old chats with the trash icon. Chats are automatically deleted after 7 days of inactivity.

  • "Generate flashcards for all the Spanish vocabulary I've studied"
  • "Make a practice test covering my last 5 sessions"
