Selections Overview
Create selections, upload materials, and organize your learning.
What are Selections?
Selections are subjects or topics — think of them as folders for everything related to one class or area of study. Examples: "AP Chemistry," "Guitar," "Data Structures." When you start a session, choose a selection and Phil tailors his teaching to that area.
Each selection tracks progress, stores session history, holds study materials, flashcards, quizzes, sections, and a to-do list. There's also a special "General Learning" selection for sessions started without a specific subject.
Creating a Selection
- Go to Selections in your dashboard sidebar
- Click the "+" button (bottom-right or in the header)
- Give it a name (required, max 50 characters)
- Add an optional goal
- Choose a color (9 presets: Golden Yellow, Soft Blue, Celebration Pink, etc.)
- Choose an emoji icon (9 options)
- Click "Create Selection"
Selections appear as cards in a responsive grid. Drag and drop to reorder them. Each card shows the emoji, name, description, session count, total study time, and quick actions (start session, view history, edit, delete).
Selection Detail Page
Click any selection to open its detail page with a banner (color, emoji, name, description) and 6 tabs:
Stream Tab

- Click the info icon to view the AI-generated session summary
- Start a new session directly from the CTA at the top
- Select multiple sessions for bulk delete
- Paginated: 20, 40, 60, or 100 rows per page
